Finished with Friendstah Blogs

Welp, Friendster Blogs has this really annoying feature where every time you update a blog entry, it Email-Spams all your freinds with a notification.  This is really annoying.

So I am giving up and going back to Live Journal.com to blog.

So catch me there.  Most of my posts will be friends-only, so if you have a account over there lemme know and I'll add you.

Friendster: Blogging on LJ

Sorry for all the email spams before when I was posting old entries!

See ya!

Baby Phat!

BackDated: Wednesday, June 08, 2005 6:35 PM

Current mood: hot, sweaty and bouncy

Heh, so just now, coming home from work on the Green Line, I saw a father with his toddler baby-girl.  and this baby has a belly! like a belly like youd see on any trucker.  Now its normal for kids to have bellys like that, but geesh, seemed a bit odd to me..

Speaking of coming home, made it home in record time. 25 minutes door to door.  #1 Bus up mass ave right away to Central, Red line train right away south to Pahk Street, and a 30 second wait for a North Station Green line train.. zoooom! made it home wikked fast.  And along the way, I made a new friend!  This woman was walking up sloowwwly the stairs from Red line to Green, and Im always anxious to see if there is a NOrth Station train waiting for me.  so I was kinda hounding around her trying to get around her as I walked up the stairs, when we got to the top, she bowed out of my way, and I craned my neck to see what the train was, and of course it was a Gvt Center train, so I chill out, and comment back to her 'trying to see if thats a North Station train, and it isn't! ' as I smile at her and walk away.

As I am standing there, she is looking around all confused like, and comes up to me and asks me in a soft Indian accent *melt* how to get to Northeastern University.  I'm like 'Oh! across the way, you need to get a E-train over there... ' She was a pretty tall Indian girl, I sooo wanted to chat with her more, but no dice; a North Station train had arrived, and she walked off looking for the x-over to the westbound side... *sigh*
It just felt cool to make a quick friendly connection on the boston subway like that, that rarely happens; unless its someone who has a agenda ( and she did, Directions! :P~ )

man, its HOT!!!

Oh, funny artcile in todays Herald about rats popping up in Lower Allston with Harvards expansion... reminds me of the days on Glenville, rats runniing around gleefully at nite!

Harvard rat invasion: University expansion is blamed for Allston infestation

OK, gonna go do some jogging around the charles in this heat.. should be funsies!!!!

*sweats on j0000000*

not having backups, not cool
Current mood: annoyed

Man, I was just starting to have a productive day. I was organzing and cleaning some computer parts, and I found a power plug I bought a year ago to put on the extension cord I use to power all my desk computers. So I dutifully shut down all my computers and router cleanly; and pulled the plug and started splicing and replacing the plug.  Got it finished, went to power up my boxes, and my XP box wouldnt boot, and I hear a very scary 'renh! renh! renh! Renh! ' coming from the area where the hard drives live. Uh oh!

So I yanked power on the drive that was offending, and voila, my machine boots up, SANS 80 gigabytes of stuff I have.  I try to plu g it back in, no dice, the drive wont even come ready at ALL.  So I yank my (wonderful $150 Lian-Li ) case apart and pull the drive, and put in another older IBM 'DeathStar' drive into it, and power up my Box. Bing, everything is good, except MY MISSING DATA!!!!

So then I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening working on figuring out how to get that drive living again ( I tried sticking it in the fridge even, no dice) and so now I'm out.  I thought I lost all my music files, but I had copied them to my linux web-server a while ago, so I have a lot there *whew*.   A ton a scanned images documents from the last 6 months... and thats about it for important stuff.  So not that bad, but still really annoying.

I can't wait to get my RAID5 network fileserver setup on my linux server(s).  That will be sweet.  Then hard-drive failures wrecking havoc with my digital life will be a thing of the past. :))))

  Backups, folks, backup!!!!

a day in chexxies life
Current mood: anxious

Bleah bleah!! oh yes! I love web blogging! I just lost 3 paragraphjs of stuff
when I clicked on a link and it jumpe dme to another page! yayyyy!
Windows GUI! awesoome!

anyways, hi, this is my first blog on myspace.  I am too intimidated by
livejournals space, serious writers post there and I feel like a dork
posting my crappy ramblings amounst those pepes.  Myspace is more rough n'
tumble, noone cares, so I can post here.

Been getting into blogging at work, wheer I am being asked to learn how to
setup blog type web applications such as Moveable Type, and Confluence.
weeee. so now that I see how that stuff works with Apache, and CGI, i find
it more accessable. I actually find the idea of Wiki's in organzations
very handy.

Getting ready for my trip to NYC, should be funsies.  Just went and bought
my ticket for $15 Fungwah bus.  should get in down there around 3 pm, have
a fun timmmme. yeah hawh.

what else is going on... not too much, well a lot, but nothing I can post
publically, so ill end it here.  (this is what I hate about blogging, i
will be schizphernic about weather to post everything I think of in
freinds only, or censor myself like crazy and post publically )

Oh, I have lots of interests in American landscapes, suburbia vs urbia.
